Mary, the mother of god, is a common image found in churches or in catholic homes. Especially Mary with the young baby or child Jesus Christ is to be seen frequently. It is a symbol of motherly love, innocence and purity. The body of the figures is of wax, which is handcoloured with a little golden glitter on the collars. The flowers and decoration typically for "Klosterarbeit" are with white and red pearls, the artfully formed wire is gold plated. The lace used is gold plated as well and the background is of wonderful dark blue silk. The whole artwork is framed by a small brown wooden frame.
